Getting your stuff created:
Once all the content is written and ready to go its time to get down and dirty with creating the pages themselves
3 options you should know about the wise woman... eerrrr no thats something else...
3 options when it comes to creating a webpage
1. Get a developer to create the website, but not give you any access to change the content except through a "Content Management System" which they will charge the earth for and is next to useless anyway...
2. Create a webpage for yourself, great, but only if you are willing to make some (lots) of mistakes and spend a huge amount of time playing around with the layout (ie. me ;o)
3. Hire a developer from ScriptLance to do the job, at a cut rate... BUT you must ask them to give you templates and FTP access so that you have control to amend and create your own pages.
Option 3 is your best bet because you will get a quality site and you will have the ability to make changes with ease
However, to get started I have created a really simple one page website at www.leanandmean.lu
Go have a look, and then simply right click anywhere on the screen and select view source.
You'll see a whole load of code, highlight, then copy and paste the text into Notepad.
Have a quick scan through the document and see if you can understand some of how the page is created...
More on this tomorrow.
